The CaniX Line (1.5 m stretched) for canicross and dog hiking, the Bike-Joring Line (2.5 m stretched) for bikejoring. They clip onto the belts in Accessories and are also part of the kits.

Choosing the right line

The line connects your belt to your dog’s harness. Three things matter: the length, suited to your activity; a shock absorber that softens sudden starts and stops, for your dog’s back as well as yours; and a locking carabiner on the dog’s side, which won’t open if it rubs against a branch. For canicross and dog hiking, people usually run with a line of 1.5 to 2 m stretched, like the CaniX Line. For bikejoring, you need more distance between your dog and your wheel: the Bike-Joring Line is 2.5 m stretched.

For jogging with a dog that pulls lightly, the hands-free leash with belt and shock absorber is a good way to start.

Frequently asked questions

Can I use my canicross line on a bike?
No, it’s too short: your dog would end up almost in your front wheel. For bikejoring, use a line of about 2.5 m stretched and an antenna.

When should I replace my line?
When the bungee no longer returns to its length, the sleeve is frayed or chewed, or the carabiner sticks. Check it before every outing.

Why not a retractable leash?
It has no shock absorber, its length keeps changing and you have to hold the handle: when running, it’s risky for you and for your dog.
