The X-Run pulling harness (XXXS to XXXL) for canicross and bikejoring, the 4 Season Fit harness with handle (XS to XL) for hiking. The effort goes through the back and chest, never the throat. Unsure about the size? See the size guide.
Pulling harness or hiking harness?
It depends on what you do with your dog. To run, on foot or by bike, your dog needs an X-back pulling harness: long, with the ring near the base of the tail, it leaves the shoulders free and spreads the effort over the whole back. That’s the X-Run harness, in 12 sizes from XXXS to XXXL. To walk and hike, a Y-harness with a handle is more versatile: it can be worn all day, and the handle helps you support your dog over rocks. That’s the 4 Season Fit, from XS to XL.
Either way, forget the collar as soon as your dog pulls: all the force would go through its throat.
Frequently asked questions
How do I choose the harness size?
Measure your dog standing, with a soft tape measure laid flat, without pulling it tight, then compare with the size guide. Between two sizes, take the larger one and tighten the straps.
How do I know the harness fits well?
You should be able to slide two fingers under each strap. No strap should ride up onto the throat or sit in front of the shoulders when your dog pulls; on an X-back harness, the rear ring sits at the base of the tail.
Can a pulling harness be used for everyday walks?
Yes with a line attached to a belt, but its rear ring is impractical with a short leash in town. For everyday walks, a Y-harness is simpler.
