The Cani-VTT Kit brings together the X-Run harness, the Bike-Joring Line and the AS antenna, which keeps the line away from your wheel. Each piece is also sold on its own. Before you start, read the beginner’s guide.
Getting equipped for bikejoring
In bikejoring, your dog runs ahead of your bike, attached by a line. Speed changes everything: your dog needs an X-back pulling harness, a bungee line longer than for canicross, around 2.5 m stretched, to keep it away from your wheel, and an antenna that holds the line above the front wheel when it goes slack. For you: a helmet, gloves and a mountain bike with good brakes.
The Cani-VTT Kit brings together the X-Run harness, the Bike-Joring Line and the AS antenna for €149, instead of €220.80 bought separately.
Frequently asked questions
At what age can my dog start bikejoring?
Bikejoring is more demanding than canicross: it is generally advised to wait until 18 months, and until growth is fully complete for large dogs.
Is the antenna mandatory?
No, but it is strongly recommended for beginners: without it, a slack line can get caught in your front wheel. The AS antenna attaches to the stem and fits almost any bike.
What temperature is too warm for bikejoring?
Your dog runs fast and heats up faster than in canicross. Above 15 to 18 °C, shorten the ride or go on foot; above 20 °C, no bikejoring.
